In response to Paul’s unfortunate injury,

Warriors coach Steve Kerr told reporters,

“That’s tough.” “I’m so sorry for Chris. I

suppose he has undergone a few hand

surgery in the past. However, it might

have been otherwise. I was worried right

away as I was holding it. I just got off the

floor and heard the news. I’m so sad for

Chris, and I know that guys will rise to

the occasion and be prepared to play.

Without him, we must continue to hold down the fort.

It will be the fifth hand surgery for the

38-year-old Paul in his NBA career. The

timetable for his return is still unknown.

About getting through the season

without Paul, Kerr remarked, “It’s going

to be tough.” “Chris is a legendary player

who seamlessly integrated into our team.

He has not only eased the workload for

Steph Curry but has also taken on a

leadership role in our second unit, which

has proven to be a valuable asset for us

this season. He will therefore be missed in both lineups.

Collective Effort

Without the 12-time NBA All-Star guard,

Kerr plans to spread out his playing time

to rookie Brandin Podziemski, Corey

Joseph and Moses Moody.

“We won’t replace all those minutes with

one guy,” Kerr said. “We’ll probably spread them out.”

Along with 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and

27.6 minutes of play this season, Paul

leads the Warriors in assists (7.2) and

steals (1.1). He has the fewest turnovers

per game among Warriors players who

play more than 20 minutes—1.2.
