But after a medical break, which Djokovic claimed was not critical,

regular operations were resumed. In just over two hours on RAC Arena,

he won with just one set lost.

Known for maintaining a strict diet,

Novak Djokovic admitted at his post-match news conference that

he hasn’t tasted chocolates since defeating Rafael Nadal in a thrilling five-set Australian Open final in 2012.

“Obviously, I did,” he grinned. Yes, I did notice that article making the rounds on social media.

While that is true, it doesn’t always mean that I always decline a whole chocolate or dessert after a victory.

I genuinely make an effort to savour the dessert.

I could say that I have a sweet tooth. However, I have consumed a lot of chocolate ever since.”

The 36-year-old continued by saying that he and his Serbian teammates had enjoyed a

“full chocolate debauch” the night before, which included four vegan desserts:

“Last night,” he stated. Yes, two guys in the back of the room are verifying that I am telling the truth.

We had maybe four desserts, though they were vegan.”

On Wednesday, January 3, Serbia plays Australia’s Alex de Minaur in a

United Cup quarterfinal match between Novak Djokovic and him.
