Celtics List Multiple Starters On Injury Report Ahead of Raptors Game
On Friday night, the Toronto Raptors may be getting a break against a
fatigued and shorthanded Boston Celtics squad.
Against Toronto, the status of four of Boston’s five regular starters has shown on the injury report.
Al Horford is the only player who has been ruled out as per their initial report because
he will be resting on the second night of a back-to-back.
Jaylen Brown has a lower back injury and is classified as questionable.
Due to the injury, he was unable to play against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday.
Jayson Tatum’s ability to treat a left ankle strain is also in doubt.
Despite being on Boston’s injury report as of Thursday, he did not play.
A recent addition to the injury report,
Jrue Holiday is also considered questionable due to a right elbow sprain.
Due to a left calf injury, Kristaps Porzingis is labelled as uncertain to participate.
Derrick White, the only Boston regular starter not on the injured report,
might have to lead a motley crew of Celtics reserves against the Raptors.
Regarding Toronto, the Raptors still have a complete lineup.
With a right ankle strain, Garrett Temple is still questionable,
while Christian Koloko is the only player who has been declared out.
Although Boston is still favoured over Toronto,
the spread has shifted to favour the Raptors by two points, to -6.5.
Before travelling to Detroit for a highly anticipated matchup with the Pistons,
who are hoping to end a 28-game losing streak,
Toronto will be playing the first night of a back-to-back.
Detroit would have the most consecutive losses in NBA history if the Pistons lost to Toronto.
