Saints at Buccaneers: Our staff makes its predictions for Sunday’s game at Raymond James Stadiium

It is imperative that the New Orleans Saints (7-8) defeat the Buccaneers (8-7) when they travel to Tampa. The Saints

are out of the playoffs after a loss.

Our staff breaks down how they anticipate the game to unfold on Thursday night.

Jeff Duncan (record for the season: 10-5)

Buccaneers 31, Saints 16: It’s do-or-die for the Saints, but I haven’t seen enough fight and effort from this team

to believe they can go into Raymond James Stadium and win a game of this magnitude. The Saints will need to

match the intensity of the Bucs and get off to a fast start or this one could turn ugly. I predict it does.

Luke Johnson Season history: 12–3.

Saints 20, Buccaneers 17: Other than the fact that a loss would end the Saints’ chances of making the playoffs, I don’t

really have a strong argument for taking the Saints in this game. Although Tampa is currently on a tear and can win

the division with a victory, I’m going to choose the club that has its back to the wall.

Rodney Walker Season history: 12–3.

Buccaneers 27, Saints 14: The Bucs are playing at their best right now, while the Saints’ hopes of making the

postseason are dangling by a thread. Since taking over as head coach of the Saints last season, Dennis Allen is 0-3

versus the Bucs. That won’t be changing as the Bucs win three in a row.NFC title

Buccaneers 20, Saints 19: With lower expectations and more rest, I honestly believe the Saints will fare well in this

scenario. However, this month alone, I’ve already been burned twice while picking New Orleans on my own. Not able

to repeat it. It seems like another disappointing conclusion to a season full of close losses for the Saints, who have

made it a habit to lose them.

Matthew Paras, who has a 5-2 season record

Saints 17, Buccaneers 27: It’s unlikely that the Saints would slow down Baker Mayfield, who has been playing quite

well for Tampa Bay ,

especially considering how they failed to do so the last time. Five times this season,

including twice in the last two weeks, in a defeat to the Houston Texans on November 5 and in his first encounter

with the Saints, Mayfield has completed at least 70% of his passes.
