Mikey made a major impact and deserves praise, but he’s still got plenty to do Mikey Johnston has had a torrid time

the past few weeks. His performance recently against Hearts was abysmal and

kind of summed up his time at Celtic. Not physically strong and zero end product. It was roundly cheered around

Celtic Park when it was announced he was subbed at half time during that very game. It must have affected him

deeply. To put it simply, it couldn’t have been very nice.

But that’s football, and part and parcel of playing for a big club like Celtic. Not only do you have to be talented, you

have to be mentally strong. It’s that plain and simple. For me at least Mikey isn’t good enough to wear a Celtic shirt.

Thats my view and tens of thousands of others share this honest assessment,

although a few minds may have been changed yesterday.

But you have to give him credit for what he did for us yesterday. He obviously scored two significant goals and looked

good in his brief time on the pitch. When he celebrated both of his goals, you could see it was a mix of relief and

delight on his face. You can sort of forgive him for his expressions, which were conveying a get it up to the supporters.

However, in order to be deemed competent enough to play for this club, he must consistently demonstrate that form,

and I fear he lacks the necessary skills to be successful.

That’s just my honest opinion. I’d loved to be proved wrong, but sadly I just can’t see it. Just an Ordinary Bhoy
