Christmas Eve took the Viaplay Cup winners to within two points of cinch

Premiership leaders Celtic with a game in hand.

Rangers host Ross County on Wednesday, travel to Celtic Park on December 30 and face Kilmarnock at home on January 2 before the

winter break and Clement is demanding focus.

The Belgian boss said: “People call it sacrifice and for a lot of people it maybe feels that way.

It’s not a sacrifice, though, if you want to succeed in business or sports. It’s what you desire; it’s ambition.

“We cannot say that we will wrap up the season with these three games and assess our performance.”

When it happens, you’ll be quite unhappy. So it does play a role in our life.

It is evident from the past several weeks that this is a team with a great deal of ambition, which is what I was hoping to see.

“It is taking care of your bodies now and letting everyone enjoy themselves—right now, recovery is the main focus.”

Every elite team in the world and every successful, driven athlete have this quality; without it, success is impossible. This is true not

just of football, but of many other sports as well, where the difficulty level is much higher.

“I know some tri-athletes who are up at 5am in the swimming pool and they train all day until late in the evening.

It is not sacrifice it is ambition,”

Clement noted that County’s home game against Hibernian on Saturday was called off due to inclement weather as he called on

Rangers fans to get right behind their heroes again.

It is going to be a difficult game, he said. Ross County was fortunate enough to have their game postponed,

giving them an extra week to be ready and be completely fresh.

We must therefore once again remain alert. With our Motherwell fans, I was ecstatic.

“It gave a lot of energy to the players, to hear them singing, to hear them shouting positively during the game

to give real support and I expect that at Ibrox.

“Three massive games before the winter break and I expect everybody to be 200 per cent behind the team to give this extra energy.”
