SAN FRANCISCO The Warriors’ fifth straight victory, which they achieved on Saturday by defeating the Trail Blazers 126-106, tied their longest winning streak of the year.

There is no better time than now.

The Warriors are about to embark on one of their hardest runs of the year, starting with a game on Christmas Day in Denver against the reigning champion Nuggets.

It will be a rematch between the two previous league winners, Golden State and Denver, who won the titles the year before.

In the postseason, the Warriors defeated the Nuggets their route to winning the 2021–22 NBA Championship, but they were eliminated before they could repeat the feat the previous year.

At Ball Arena, the Warriors haven’t had much luck lately. In the Mile High City, they have dropped five of six games and three in a row. On March 10, 2022, two seasons ago, Golden State last triumphed in Denver en route to its fourth NBA title in eight years.

When playing at home as compared to away, the Nuggets have been an entirely different club. They are merely 10-8 away from home and 11-2 in Denver.

The Nuggets prevailed 108-105 in their prior season meeting in Denver between the two clubs. Despite scoring 23 points in that game, Stephen Curry was minus ten. Only Klay Thompson (15) and Andrew Wiggins (11) of the Golden State Warriors scored more than ten points.

For personal reasons, Draymond Green was unable to participate in the game. In addition, he will not be available to play on Christmas due to his ongoing indefinite NBA suspension.

Whatever the case, Thompson is relishing the chance to play the Nuggets once more.

Following Saturday’s victory, Thompson remarked, “It’ll be a great time.” As the reigning champions, you can be sure that they perform well at home. We would prefer to maintain our current winning streak, therefore something has to give.

“I believe we’ll give them an excellent match. We are capable of winning in the end. However, it will be interesting to see how we fare against the reigning champions.

A run of games against some of the best teams in the NBA begins with the game at Denver. The Warriors return home to play Miami (ranked No. 5 in the East), Dallas (ranked No. 6 in the West), and Orlando (ranked No. 4 in the East) before hosting the Nuggets once more. The Nuggets (22–10) hold the second-best record in the West.

After that, Golden State’s schedule begins to loosen up. For the time being, though, the Warriors’ main goal is to continue their winning streak and defeat the Nuggets.

“Christmas marquee games are going to be a great atmosphere,” stated Stephen Curry. We are aware of what to expect while driving because we have experience in that setting. Just competing is going to be entertaining. You can sort of understand how they play because that is the next one on the calendar as well. Focus on our tasks and make an effort to win.

The Warriors’ winning run began in Brooklyn against the Nets, but coach Steve Kerr was hoping that his team’s double-overtime victory over the Celtics, 132-126, would provide them a much-needed boost for the remainder of the campaign.

Everything is going OK so far.

Kerr remarked that the mood in the Warriors’ locker room was positive following their victory over Portland.

There’s no doubt that defeating the Nuggets on Christmas Eve would intensify the positive energy in Dub Nation.
