It’s set to be a manic month as teams seek a signing spark during January as they aim for a season-altering month.

1. SHOULD DAVID TURNBULL LEAVE CELTIC IN JANUARY?

FRASER: It depends if he wants to have medals and European football or regular game time. At Celtic he is in a position to get the former. Elsewhere and most likely down south is his best chance of the latter.

MICHAEL: If Turnbull isn’t signing a new contract it might be best to get a head start on the next chapter. He won’t be short of offers.

SCOTT: I am not sure he is going to get the regular game time he craves. He has the talent and is at an age where he needs to be playing regularly. I suspect if he does go it will be at the end of the season rather than next month.

2. CYRIEL DESSERS ONTO NINE GOALS SINCE SIGNING FOR RANGERS. CAN HE HIT THE 20 MARK THIS TERM?

FRASER: It’s beginning to look like he will – so long as he avoids injury and keeps his place in the team. He’s playing with confidence and showing decent movement in the box as well as a goal a game record recently. Twenty should be the target.

MICHAEL: There is every chance. The front man can be hit or miss but he’ll keep getting plenty of opportunities.

SCOTT: I think if he stays fit he will. Rangers will create chances and look a better team under Clement. Dessers has a proven goalscoring record and with a bit more confidence he will really start to fire.

3. WILL ABERDEEN KEEP HOLD OF BOJAN MIOVSKI IN JANUARY?

FRASER:
What are people willing to offer? Aberdeen have every right to hold out for top dollar. It would be interesting to see if they would be tempted by a £3m offer. With Dave Cormack’s financial might I reckon they’d be looking for nothing under five.

MICHAEL: It’s going to be extremely tough. There are plenty of panicking sides who need a goal scorer, but at least there’s a hefty price tag that might be a deterrent.

SCOTT: There is going to be genuine interest in him. Aberdeen’s model is to sell players every season. His asking price is going up with every passing week. I think it is more than likely he will be sold in the summer because that is when the big money comes out.

4. ARE LIVINGSTON ALREADY DOOMED TO THE DROP?

FRASER: No. Livi are nothing if not absolute fighters led by a manager who will never give up. Any team down that end of the table who get complacent thinking Livi are away could be in for a shock – especially if their top players rediscover their form.

MICHAEL: Livingston are in a perilous position where they are struggling to score and conceding at the other end. Unless they sort it sharpish they are in big trouble.

SCOTT: It doesn’t look good if you look at the table and their current form. I saw them on Wednesday night and they were unlucky at Aberdeen. One result could spark them into life but they still remain favourites for the drop.
