Uruguayan star Luis Suarez joins Inter Miami to reunite with Lionel Messi

bringing him back together with close friend and former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi.

Suarez, who will turn 37 next month,

signed a contract that will keep him in Major League Soccer (MLS)

until the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.

“Inter Miami said on social media on Friday.

Suarez signed a free move with Inter Miami after parting ways with Gremio of Brazil last month.

In 53 games with the Porto Alegre club across all competitions,

he scored 26 goals, and in 2023,

he was named the best player in Brazil’s Serie A,

earning the Golden Ball Award.

In a news release, Suarez stated,

“I’m very happy and excited to take on this new challenge with Inter Miami.”

“I can’t wait to get started,

and I’m ready to work to make the dream of winning more

titles with this great club a reality.”

Along with Messi, Suarez will be visiting the Florida club

with Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets,

two other former Barcelona colleagues.

During their six years at Camp Nou,

the quintet won four La Liga crowns and a Champions League triumph.

On February 21, 2024, Inter Miami,

who are co-owned by former England captain David Beckham,

will play their home opener against Real Salt Lake in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
