This upcoming off-season, the Green Bay Packers are anticipated to

make a few adjustments to their coaching staff.

A few other roles appear less likely to return,

despite the fact that many believe head coach Matt LaFleur will be safe to return.

Joe Barry, the defensive coordinator who has recently been under fire,

appears to be at the top of that list.

When quarterback Baker Mayfield finished with a perfect passer rating of 158.3,

maybe the best game of his career, that seat grew even hotter.

Since then, a number of names have surfaced as potential Joe Barry replacements;

few are more intriguing than the current Dallas Cowboys coach.

A Well-Known Name From The Dallas Cowboys Emerges as the Front-Runner To

Replace Green Bay Packers Defensive Coordinator

Bill Huber of Packers Central outlined the following benefits of this move for the Packers:

It’s now time for Whitt to step into the role of coordinator. During his 10 years in Green Bay,

the team led the league in interceptions, finished seventh in completion %,

and had the ninth-best opponent passer rating.

The Cowboys are third in opponent rating, third in opponent completion %,

and first in interceptions in three seasons under defensive passing-game coordinator Dallas.

Dallas is ranked sixth in opponent passer rating this year, despite the loss of Trevon Diggs due to an ACL tear.

DaRon Bland a fifth-round selection in the previous draft,

now leads the NFL in pick-sixes and interceptions with eight.

He has received coaching from Dan Quinn’s 4-3 and Dom Capers’ 3-4.

It Would Be Quite Sense To Bring Joe Whitt Back To Green Bay

Whitt worked as a staff member in Atlanta, Green Bay,

and Cleveland before moving to Dallas in 2021. After his rookie season with the Cowboys,

he was contacted by other teams to interview for defensive coordinator jobs.

He has stayed in Dallas,

though, and if current DC Dan Quinn leaves the organisation,

he is reportedly a contender for the position.

It would be a huge victory for the team if that turns out not to be the case,

or if Whitt chooses to go back to Green Bay.

Whitt led the Green Bay Packers’ cornerbacks to victory in Super Bowl XLV during the 2010–11 campaign.

Whitt had various positions in Green Bay from 2008 to 2018,

including coordinator of the defensive passing game, coach of cornerbacks,

and coach of defensive quality control.
