Kurtenbach: Six months later, the Warriors’ trade of Jordan Poole is proving to be a true sports rarity The Warriors and Wizards accomplished a real rarity in sports this past summer.

It’s likely that you have heard of a trade being referred to as a “win-win.”

In any case, the Warriors’ deal of Chris Paul for Jordan Poole to the Wizards resulted in a loss.

On Friday, Poole and the Wizards will make their one and only trip to San Francisco this season. While neither side can truly claim to be all that delighted about the deal, neither can they honestly claim to regret it either.

Really, for whom is this transaction currently effective?

Ultimately, there’s a long way to go this season and in Poole’s career. It’d be ridiculous to think that the events of the last two-plus

months of the regular season will extrapolate into perpetuity.

And it was still right that the Warriors and Poole broke up — their relationship had no future.

But just because that relationship needed to end doesn’t mean their respective rebounds are working for them, either.

This season has been a complete failure for Poole and the Wizards. After 26 games, Washington has four victories.

The Detroit Pistons have lost 24 straight games entering Thursday, which puts the severity of that situation into perspective. They have lost two games to the Wizards. Woof.

Poole wanted to establish his “own team” when he moved to Washington.

Exercise caution when making wishes.

Although Poole may have believed he would be the star in Washington, his stats from his season with Golden State last year are

virtually identical — about 30 minutes and 15 shots per game.

Aside from this season, Poole’s shooting is declining, along with his fouling, assists, and points per game average.

However, this season, Poole is receiving more attention. Indeed, from

I never said that being noticed was a good thing.

For all the wrong reasons, Poole has become a Washington internet sensation. These days, he’s not so much a basketball player as a

meme. The spiteful, nasty folks on the internet don’t miss a chance to make fun of the herky-jerky guard during his few Shaqtin’ A Fool

moments each week. In an attempt to draw a foul, he most recently slipped in a sweat puddle that he had just made.
