West Ham receive transfer boost ahead of January transfer window regarding EFL wonderkid

West Ham United has gotten a huge boost regarding one of their most desired transfer targets.

Ronnie Edwards, a defender for Peterborough United,

has been the target of West Ham United for some time now. A new development has emerged:

The Sun is reporting that he will almost definitely be sold during the January transfer window.

The £4.5 million transfer fee (plus some significant additional costs) for him will be a

high price for a League One team,

but the Hammers can definitely afford it.

It would be relatively easy for them to bring him to the London Stadium if they so desired.

The Irons would be wise to bring in a young central defender,

as none of their current centre backs are younger than 26, Kurt Zouma is 29 years old,

and Angelo Ogbonna is 35.

Edwards has scored two goals for the Posh in 25 games across all competitions so far this season;

he has not yet tallied any assists, though.

While these might not be the most encouraging stats,

it’s easy to forget that he’s only twenty years old.

For a player his age, his defensive resilience is impressive;

Peterborough’s defence is currently ranked third in League One.

There’s definitely a lot of interest in the player.

West Ham will have to put in a lot of effort to sign him.
