Would Jerry Jones, the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, be open to making an investment in a different kind of football? Evening

Standard seems to believe that. Shortly after Jones’ workers arrived in the city on his mega-yacht,

the long-running British newspaper said that Jones’ private jet touched down at London Stansted Airport.

The Standard states that Stansted is the “nearest airport to (the town of) Tottenham,”

where the well-known association football team Tottenham Hotspur F.C. is based.

What could he possibly be doing here? Perhaps he’s looking to get his hands on Spurs, City Spy reckons,”

The Standard wrote through City Spy, which documents the “latest London news, business,

sport, showbiz and entertainment.”

“Jones’s spokesperson declined to comment on why he was in London, and Tottenham did not respond

to a request for comment on whether its execs had met with him.”

At now, Tottenham, also known as the “Spurs,” competes in the Premier League, the top division of English football.

The team is occasionally included in lists of the world’s most valuable professional sports teams,

along with the Dallas Cowboys. The club is currently worth around $2.8 billion, according to Forbes.

The Spurs are no secret to American football affairs: their pitch at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has been a mainstay for NFL

International Series games since 2019, hosting two games in each of the past three seasons.

Tottenham recently inked a deal that ensures that games will return through the 2030 season. In September,

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy told Bloomberg that the club would be open to selling ownership stakes.

“We run this club as if it’s a public company,” Levy told Jonathan Ferro and Jamie Nimmo.

“If anyone wants to make a serious proposition to the board of Tottenham, we would consider it.”

Jones, 81, would not be the first billionaire from the NFL to make an overseas investment;

the late Malcolm Glazer’s Tampa Bay family still owns Manchester United, and Stan Kroenke of the Los Angeles Rams

made an initial investment in Arsenal in 2007 before assuming complete control of the team in 2018.

Jones’ Cowboys (10-4) will play their next home game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
