Comparisons to Lamar Jackson’s 2019 season, in which he won just the second unanimous MVP in league history,

are being made as he is now leading the NFL MVP race.

According to the statistics, Jackson’s 2019 campaign was better.

Along with leading the league in touchdown passes (36),

he also set a record for the fewest interceptions thrown by a quarterback in a single season.

Although Jackson’s stats that season could have been even more stunning,

the Ravens had already secured the top seed in the AFC,

therefore he was often benched early in games when they had a comfortable lead.

Additionally, Jackson did not play in the season’s last game.

Jackson is on pace to sprint for 899 yards this season with 17 touchdown throws to just seven interceptions.

much though Jackson was an excellent quarterback in 2019,

Maurice Jones-Drew and Chris Rose of NFL Network claimed that Jackson will be much better in 2023.

“He makes the three or four best plays in every game that he is in,” Rose stated.

“As for whether or not he is the MVP, don’t base your decision on the stats.

Compared to 2019, when he won the entire thing, this is different.

This guy is incredible. He’s actually improved as a quarterback since winning the MVP, in my opinion.”

“He’s a much better quarterback,” remarked Jones-Drew.

I want to start by praising him for wanting to be the person and take charge of the offence,

and then I want to thank [Offensive Coordinator] Todd Monken for

letting him make decisions at the line of scrimmage.

“How many times did we witness a negative gain become a positive gain on Sunday night?

Or the scene in Isaiah Likely’s play where he is fired and eventually meets a guy?

That play is worthy of an MVP. Are the numbers there now?

No, but his squad has 11 victories and manages to win every week regardless of the opposition,

the circumstances, the weather, or the playing field. Lamar Jackson goes above and beyond to prevail.”

Jackson should significantly surpass one statistic from his 2019 season: throwing yards.

Despite having 3,105 yards this year, he concluded 2019 with 3,127 yards.

Jackson will once more create history if he keeps rushing and passing at

his current rate throughout the next three weeks of the season,

as noted by Benjamin Solak of The Ringer.

Lamar Jackson is currently on track to finish the season with 3,770 passing yards and 900 rushing yards

after he tallied 171 passing yards and 97 rushing yards tonight.

The NFL has never seen a season with 3,700 passing yards and 900 rushing yards.

.@Lj_era8 and @Ravens Nobody is as good as Lamar, especially when it comes to winning on the road.

RETIME:

On the same day that @Lj_era8 was given a non-exclusive tag, where were the teams that declared their lack of interest in him? The clubs who felt that switching to their offence just for him wasn’t worth it. Do they have a postseason spot? More than 500? Are you still looking for a QB?

The BAL is -11-3.

Watching the @Ravens O is fascinating. It’s difficult to judge at times because LJ is so fluid and impressive, but even when his spacing is off or his read is delayed, it can still be impressive when he’s just making a play. I still enjoy watching!
