The former striker for Aston Villa emphasized that Sean Dyche would want to show off his abilities and playmaking style against his old team, who have changed since he left.

When Everton looks to continue their strong play, a fascinating comparison between the

possession-hungry play of Vincent Kompany and the practical yet efficient football of Dyche should prove to be of interest.

Agbonlahor evaluated the two sides prior to the match in his Premier League predictions for talkSPORT,

saying: “Strugggling Burnley play Everton.”

“I believe that in this match, Everton will play Burnley, and Sean Dyche will be going up

against his former team. He’ll want to show that, you know what, maybe playing football the way I do is still the right thing to do. I wish to go there and get a conclusion.

“I think we can beat Everton 2-0 because Calvert-Lewin, McNeil, Harrison, and Garner are playing well.”

Dyche proving the stereotypes wrong

Ever since he left Burnley, Dyche has been perceived as a traditional, one-sided manager who prefers his teams to play dirty football, win their games by hard effort and determination, and sit back and lump the ball forward.

But as time and his recent performances at Everton have demonstrated,

he is much more than that. Beto’s goal against Newcastle on December 7th demonstrated that,

despite his values being based on hard work and attitude, the style of play is typically progressive and patient when in control.

As Dyche continues to show that he is much more than that, even while Agbonlahor

indicates that there may be a confrontation between Burnley’s old and new approaches,

it won’t be a case of the more expansive, modern ways against the more pragmatic ones.

Nevertheless, even though Everton can play some really good passing game,

Burnley’s performance in the Premier League should demonstrate that it’s not always easier on the other side.
