On Thursday, December 7, they said on their Patreon page that Brighton would let the forward go for the correct price,

but the current quote to seal the deal is more than the Gers would be ready to part with.

Due to the lack of a buy clause in the present loan agreement, negotiations between the two clubs would be necessary.

It appears that Brighton can afford to “wait and watch” given Sima’s current form.

It appears likely that the Light Blues won’t spend a ridiculous amount of money on Sima given that Rangers made significant purchases during the summer transfer window,

especially in the forward positions on players who haven’t really settled in Glasgow.

Do it now.

Rangers heavily backed Michael Beale during the summer transfer window,

but most of his acquisitions have fallen flat, with players like Cyriel Dessers, Sam Lammers,

and Danilo failing to live up to the high expectations placed on them.

Sima is the only one of Beale’s attacking acquisitions who has shown the consistency needed to succeed at Ibrox. This season, the winger has scored 12 goals across all competitions, including 8 goals in 15 Scottish Premiership games.

Sima has demonstrated throughout his loan stay thus far that he is more than capable of becoming a difference-maker at the top end of the pitch, even though it is entirely understandable that the Gers won’t want to overpay on yet another forward after making that error again in the last transfer window.

Rangers doesn’t need to be held hostage by Brighton, but the Ibrox board needs to find the funds to make this agreement a long-term one if Philippe Clement wants Sima to stay in Glasgow. The Senegalese striker has an exceptional talent, and the Gers cannot afford to overlook him.
