Aston Villa’s start is sustainable, according to The Mailbox,

and even the most pessimistic Villans are beginning to believe

Reaching their Villan Era

Villa’s problem lies in the fact that,

despite a summer transfer window disrupting their season,

they are really demonstrating that their form is somewhat sustainable.

It’s not out of the question that, given the upcoming schedule for the top 4,

they finish the year at the top of the table.

With both sides performing well heading into the match, this was an outcome that was truly anticipated,

even taking into account Rodri’s absence as a mitigating circumstance.

Moving past the simplistic repartee of “This is what Arsenal could have won”

(as though a manager had never failed at one team before succeeding at another).

Emery should be commended greatly for getting them to play from their position when he first arrived.

Recall that at this time last year,

much was spoken about how incredible Newcastle’s comeback in the 12 months prior.

In my humble opinion, Villa’s turnaround is all that and then some.

This wasn’t simply a team that was having trouble getting off the ground when Emery took over;

it was a team devoid of ambition and hope, and it had no new, wealthy owners to lend it support.

I, for one, am OVERJOYING Emery’s transformation of a group of mediocre players

who were having trouble staying afloat into a team of decent players who are much

more than the sum of their parts.

Hooler, Harry Eduardo, Esq.

(P.S. : Although I never really liked Villa, even in their prime,

there is something innately endearing about this current lineup. Well done, guys.

..I just got back from Villa Park and it’s already late.

Let me begin with the disclaimers.

If Villa’s five main players were sidelined,

I would utilise them. Rodri and KDB are two important players.

Doku’s influence was felt right away. Jack would have needed to make a point.

Stones’ injuries has only recently healed.

Villa certainly had a great time playing Man City, and they certainly did!

It could have been 3 or 4. Probably should have been.

That would have been fair. City’s only 2 shots came early on. Villa had 22. Twenty-two!

I could talk about every Villa player. They were all excellent.

I’ll single out three though. Youri Tielemans; that’s much more like it. Control,

energy, effort, a little bit of flair.

Lovely stuff. Diego Carlos; easily his best game in a Villa shirt.

By a country mile. Lastly…

Pau Torres. My word. There was only one problem with his performance,

but it’s a massive one. Real Madrid, or City themselves,

will pay anything for him. He was sensational. Faultless. He just looks so classy.

I’m loving this, whatever happens. Saturday should be good.
