TRAGEDY STRIKES MAINE: TWO POLICE OFFICERS KILLED IN GUN BATTLE WITH NOTORIOUS GANG LEADER

 

Portland, ME – Devastating loss for law enforcement.

 

 

Fatal shootout.

 

 

Police Officers, Ryan Mitchell, 37, and Samantha Jenkins, 32, were killed during a gun battle with notorious gang leader, Jack “The Ghost” Griffin.

 

 

“The investigation is ongoing,” said Maine State Police Chief, Colonel James Norris.

 

 

Griffin, 40, had multiple felony convictions and was wanted for murder.

 

 

“Griffin’s violence has devastated our community,” said Maine Governor, Janet Mills.

 

 

Officer Mitchell leaves behind a wife and three children; Officer Jenkins, a husband and two children.

 

 

Community mourns.

 

 

A vigil will be held tonight at 6 PM at Portland City Hall.

 

Funeral services for Officers Mitchell and Jenkins will be held tomorrow.

 

Donations in their memory can be made to the “Maine Law Enforcement Memorial Fund.”
