“That’s a possibility” – Fabrizio Romano hints at next Aston Villa’s transfer plan.

By giving Ollie Watkins some much-needed competition, Aston villa may try to strengthen their attack.

Fabrizio Romano, a prominent football journalist and columnist for CaughtOffside,

says the Villains may have internal discussions about the possibility of bringing in a new striker in the upcoming months.

The 27-year-old Watkins has performed admirably once more this season.

In his first 21 games of the season, the Torquay-born striker has already scored 13 goals, including eight in the Premier League.

Regarding the signing of a new striker by Aston Villa, what Fabrizio Romano has said?

Even though the England international is playing brilliantly,

Unai Emery will want to make sure he doesn’t grow complacent and think his place is assured.

Consequently, Romano thinks it might only be a matter of time before Emery enters the transfer market,

even though targets have not yet been determined.

A new strike partner to assist rival the 27-year-old could therefore be in the works.

In his special Substack column, he wrote,

“There’s a chance that Aston Villa signs a backup striker for Watkins, but nothing advanced or concrete yet.”

“At this time, I don’t have any specific names, but it’s possible they will talk about it internally in the coming months.”

Leander Dendoncker, a midfielder who has struggled for playing time since joining from Wolves 18 months ago,

is anticipated to be among the first players to leave,

even though a new forward may be on the roster at the end of the season.

Ollie Watkins has attempted 33 shots in 14 Premier League 2023–2024 games thus far.

Thirteen of the thirty-three shots found their mark, while sixteen missed.

Watkins’s shooting accuracy is therefore 51.52%.

In 90 minutes on the pitch, he takes 2.62 shots and scores a goal for every 4.71 shots he attempts.
