Rangers’ £3m man labelled a flop as he’s called a big ‘disappointment’
There isn’t a more noticeable contrast between Ianis Hagi’s impact on the Romanian national team and at the club level with Alaves.
It was him who, just a few months prior,
propelled Romania into the European Championships this summer with a superb victory over Israel.
In fact,
Hagi has contributed four goals (two goals and two assists) in his last four games for the Tricolorii.
With just one assist in his 16 outings in La Liga,
that is easily more than he has accomplished there.
After just playing 20 of the last 630 possible minutes,
a player who signed with Scottish powerhouse Rangers with high expectations seemed likely to leave the Mendizorroza by the back door.
His time in Spain turned out to be less transformative and more of a labor for a man who had a significant knee injury at Ibrox and fell out of favor.
Rangers loanee strugging in La Liga
According to local reporter Inaki Inigo,
“Hagi is actually one of the season’s disappointments,
” as stated on the Noticias de Alava website.
Glasgow gave him very positive feedback and he came to Mendizorroza to make a difference.
However, he hasn’t been able to adjust to La Liga’s standards thus far.
