Now that Dan Quinn has officially become the head coach

of the Washington Commanders for a week instead of only

one week, a few things have happened with the Dallas

coaching staff. Quinn was the defensive coordinator

for the Dallas Cowboys.

Although Quinn’s departure at the coordinator position has

not yet been filled by the Cowboys, Washington was able to

snag one of the potential replacements.

Quinn was followed to Washington by Joe Whitt Jr.,

and rumors circulated that more might follow.

According to reports on Wednesday, Dallas denied Washington’s

desire to interview Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells

for their offensive line post. Another rumor along these

lines surfaced on Thursday morning, stating Quinn wants

to speak with defensive backs coach Al Harris.

Dallas did not permit Washington to talk with Pete Ohnegian

or Sharrif Floyd, although they did stop that as well.

The Cowboys’ secondary players have been playing

exceptionally well lately, and Trevon Diggs even pushed for

Al Harris to take over as the team’s defensive coordinator

right after Quinn left. It makes obvious that Mike McCarthy

would want to retain Al Harris and continue to gain from

his growth as a coach, considering that he was the

player-coach of Harris throughout his playing career.
It appears that Dan Quinn truly wanted to bring along a

few Cowboys employees to a division opponent.
