After Leon Balogun was pulled off against Livingston early in the game,

Rangers have now suffered yet another injury setback.

For today’s Premiership encounter at Ibrox, the Nigerian goalkeeper and Connor Goldson

started together at the center of the defense. However, he was gone in just 22 minutes after a

verbal altercation with Shaun Donnellan, the center-half for Livi. During a break in play,

Balogun was given medical attention on the field; nonetheless, he was unable to bounce

back from the unintentional bump and was replaced by John Souttar.

It comes after Rangers manager Philippe Clement’s hands were constrained, preventing

the 35-year-old from being included in the team for the Europa League’s round of 16.

Clement said that he wasn’t pleased with the way the list was initially compiled,

a barely disguised jab at his predecessor Michae Beale.

Rangers were only permitted to make three changes, therefore Mohamed Diomande,

Fabio Silva, and Ridvan Yilmaz were added even though Balogun was not registered for the

group stage team. “If you look at finding a balance, then Ridvan needs to be in,” Clement clarified.

Two full-backs are required; this was an issue in the first round. We were without a left-back if Borna Barisic had an issue.

“On the European list that I sent in today, it was a challenging point. Fabio Silva is in, while Sam Lammers is out.

That makes sense. It’s likely that Cifu is not in, thus Diomande enters in his place.

“Since Ridvan will be added to the list, Leon Balogun, Kieran Dowell, and Cortes are not allowed to be on it.

I’m hurt by that. Over the previous three days, we have spent hours debating with the staff,

and you consistently reach the same conclusions. If you don’t make these adjustments, the equilibrium will be lost.
