“Got enough time” – Journalist drops teasing Celtic transfer update over “surprise” deal

Journalist Dean Jones of GIVEMESPORT has revealed that Celtic has been looking into the market

to sign a new left-back during the January transfer window, and there’s still a chance that something

might come up in the last hours.

The Scottish Premiership team has had a quiet transfer window thus far, but Brendan Rodgers has

been pressing for the signing of a left-back. Although things haven’t completely worked out yet,

Celtic still has time to complete a deal.

Celtic is looking to get a full-back.

It’s understood that Hugo Bueno of Wolverhampton Wanderers was not successful in being acquired

by Celtic during the January transfer window, and that Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa

has emerged as a late target. Rodgers recently stated that Greg Taylor would be out for “a few weeks,

” underscoring their need for a new left-back this month.

Journalist Jones earlier revealed to GIVEMESPORT that PSG is trying to find a left-back replacement,

and on deadline day, Kurzawa is being offered to ‘a few clubs’. The reputable writer continues,

saying that while he can see why Celtic could try to wriggle him away from the French team,

there is a risk because of his insufficient playing time.

According to a rumor from earlier in the transfer season, Celtic and their Glasgow rivals

Rangers were among the teams reportedly thinking about making a deal for Liverpool left-back Owen Beck.

The Evening Standard reported that left-sided player Tiago Araujo,

who can play in midfield and defense, is also a possibility.

The fact that they haven’t signed a left-back yet is surprising.

When Kurzawa was the player we were hearing about early in the day,

I do believe that we were reaching the point where we could sense things were becoming a little desperate.

You can tell they’re running out of choices when players like that are being touted to clubs and they’re beginning to listen.

Since we are aware that this was a crucial position before the window opened.

You need to use caution when completely discounting possibilities, and there’s still a chance

that anything will cross their path. Although I wouldn’t say that everything has gone their way,

it is encouraging that Adam Idah is coming into the club because that was a really key one too for them.”

On his journey to Scotland, Adam Idah

Adam Idah, a forward for Norwich City, is rumored to have traveled to Scotland for a medical

examination in advance of a possible transfer to the Scottish team. According to reports,

Rodgers’ team is about to finalize an agreement that will allow the striker to join on loan

until the end of the current campaign.

Jones stated that signing a striker was another top priority for Celtic; as a result,

they may move on with their efforts to sign a left-back.
