Championship pair Rodrigo Muniz of Fulham is attracting

interest from Bristol City and Queens Park Rangers ahead of the January transfer window, TEAMtalk reports.

As a backup to Aleksandar Mitrovic,

the Brazilian forward played a significant role for the Cottagers during his first season in London,

which helped his current team be promoted back to the Premier League.

Despite his restricted playing time due to his form,

Mitrovic was still able to make an impact and consider his debut season at Craven Cottage to have been a success.

However, after Marco Silva’s team was promoted to the Premier League,

the forward was deemed unnecessary, and he was loaned to Middlesbrough as

the Teesside team attempted to get into the top division alongside the Cottagers.

Unfortunately, he didn’t get any game action at the Riverside,

and things weren’t much better when Cameron Archer moved in January.

Muniz failed to improve on a somewhat encouraging debut season in England,

making just 17 games in all competitions for Boro. He scored twice in the protest.

He has played in eight competitive games so far this season,

but he hasn’t had much playing time.

The Cottagers are presently debating whether to send him out on loan,

and given that he isn’t getting a lot of playing time, they could be inclined to do so.

Having said that, he has been a member of many matchday squads this season,

so if he were to leave—permanently or on loan—the team could wish to bring in a replacement.

It’s unknown if Muniz wants to return to his own country after not succeeding much in England,

but Atletico Mineiro and Gremio are rumoured to be among the other teams interested in him.

Though Silva’s team wants to add another striker before making a decision on the 22-year-old,

it doesn’t appear as though Muniz will be leaving at the opening of the window.

Since the Robins already have a few choices for centre forward,

one could argue that some of them lack experience,

which is why they would be eager to add a more seasoned player to their roster.

Antoine Semenyo and Alex Scott, who can be tremendous weapons in the closing third,

were lost, thus it could be a good idea to bring in Muniz,

who can score goals at this level consistently.

There’s no doubt that QPR ought to be searching for a striker.

They did sign Paul Smyth, who demonstrated last night that he can be useful in the last third.

However, they can’t depend too much on Lyndon Dykes and Sinclair Armstrong,

as the former isn’t a surefire goal scorer every week and the latter is still inexperienced despite his clear talent.

Muniz might be a suitable match for Marti Cifuentes,

who deserves the opportunity to make his mark on the team. It is yet unclear, though,

if they will be able to reach an agreement with their competitors.
