This season, Fulham has been unable to score goals.

Just 13 goals have been scored by the Whites in 13 games this season;

if not for two dubious penalties against Wolves on Monday,

that total would be considerably more concerning.

Naturally, the centre forward is held responsible for any team’s goal drought,

and Jermaine Beckford stated on Premier League Productions that Raul Jimenez isn’t Fulham’s best option.

Jimenez is not the solution

Beckford offered his assessment of the £5 million man.

Even if Jimenez is a capable all-around centre striker,

he is not the solution.

If you average his record over the course of his career, it comes out to be about nine, ten, or eleven goals.

He’s a fantastic all-around player,

so I’m not taking anything away from him,

but if you need a goal scorer,

he’s not the solution. Vinicius now has a chance,

as he hasn’t been given the minutes or the opportunity to play,

according to Beckford.

Absurd

The fact that anyone at Fulham would have believed Jimenez was the solution was absurd,

and Beckford isn’t adding anything to what we already know.

Consider his track record. In the past eighteen months, he has only one Premier League goal.

He wasn’t wanted at Wolves, which is why he only cost £6 million.

If you want to replace Aleksandar Mitrovic,

a £45 million asset, you’ll need to shell out a little more money.

Though it’s difficult to imagine Jimenez ever reaching the stage where

he can be considered a success at Craven Cottage, we’d love to see him succeed at Fulham.
