Transfer guru reveals who has been “pushing” last minute Rangers deal
Rangers target talent from Fluminense Seven days after Jefte appeared out of nowhere last week, Philippe Clement has closed the deal.
Unfortunately for the manager of the Gers, there appears to be a problem with the contract that will prevent the Brazilian full-back
from coming to Ibrox during this window of opportunity to bolster his team.
Given that Rangers have enough of left-back cover, a summer transfer seems reasonable.
However, the transfer guru has revealed to GiveMeSport what motivated Jefte’s request.
Rangers given encouragement in summer Jefte transfer
Jefte looked like an exciting proposition and it appears that the player was determined to make the dream become a reality too
after Rangers reached an agreement with his parent club Fluminense.
Before announcing that APOEL decided that they didn’t want to lose a key player for the rest of the season, Romano pointed to the 20-year old as being the one trying to make it happen.
“The player is on loan to APOEL Nicosia, but he wants to go there.” Getting APOEL Nicosia’s permission to terminate the loan and
allow him to join Rangers is the only option to make it happen.
The green light is still not coming, even though the rangers are waiting for it. If that doesn’t work out,
the Rangers may consider other options for that post.
“But I can guarantee that Jefte is really pushing to make it happen as soon as possible.”
When the player wants the move, it always makes things that little bit easier.
It also explains why Jefte went AWOL in his attempt to seal his transfer to Rangers.
Romano reassured fans that a summer deal is now likely with a “verbal pact” seemingly being given
as an alternative to an immediate move.
In fairness, APOEL’s need is probably greater than ours and Ridvan Yilmaz will now be trusted to be Philippe Clement’s first choice left-back.
And not many people would have said that at the start of the window.
