According to Aksam, Rangers defender Ridvan Yilmaz is one of three players shortlisted to play for Galatasaray, along with Frank Fabra and Nicolas Tagliafico.

On January 31, a Turkish media site stated that Yilmaz is amenable to relocating to Galatasaray,

although a deal with Gers has not yet been reached.

An agreement with Philippe Clement has also been reached and it’s just down to the final transfer price.

Twists and turns

The story of Yilmaz’s transfer seems to be taking new turns every day, and it’s still unclear what becomes of him.

Less than 48 hours remain until the deadline,

so it’s difficult to say for sure if he’ll be a Rangers player on February 2.

Jefte appears to be on his way and the feeling seems to be that once he’s announced then clarity

will emerge over the future of the Turkey international.

That will make it three left-backs in the first team and Borna Barisic, whose contract runs out at the end of the season,

does not appear to be under any immediate urgency to be sold.

It’s a tad surprising as Gers can rather sell him and make some money right away

as they’ve got a replacement coming through the door.

But if a left-back is going to depart this month, Yilmaz, not Barisic, is the favorite to go.

In other Rangers news, a behind-the-scenes report has surfaced, suggesting that the Gers want to sign a player on deadline day following the recent events.
