‘Firm offer’ – Report: Rangers warn bidders over time wasting as stance emerges on key player

According to the Daily Record, Rangers has warned prospective suitors in response to Nottingham Forest’s attempt to sign Jack Butland.

Gers have informed any interested parties that they are wasting their time, according to a report published in the print edition of the newspaper on January 31, page 50. The 30-year-old was not allowed to leave by Gers despite Forest’s late attempt to sign him.

They warned that any bidder would be wasting their time should they choose to follow up their initial interest with a firm offer, the report states, after rejecting yesterday’s approach.

Wonderful stance

Back when Butland first joined in the summer, nobody could have predicted the kind of impact he would have.

Although many believed that he was a keeper in decline and that his prime was past, he has silenced all of his detractors.

It’s reasonable to argue that if he hadn’t been there, the Rangers would not have been competing for the championship because he has won his team numerous points on his own.

The Englishman has flourished under both Michael Beale and Philippe Clement, and he has even brilliantly marshalled the defense in front of him.

There’s always a tiny bit of fear when things like this happen, so hopefully no other club makes an offer before the transfer deadline.

There is no indication that Butland is considering a move, which is great news for the Gers and a relief for their supporters.
