Divin Mubama, the contract rebel from West Ham, has been talking to the

ninth-best striker in Premier League history about his career.

There are numerous reports claiming that Divin Mubama is reluctant to sign a new contract with West Ham because he is worried

about not having enough opportunities under David Moyes.

Owner of West Ham David Sullivan has reportedly attempted

to mediate the Mubama crisis by attempting to have one-on-one discussions with the striker,

as we recently reported. His agency, however, has declined.

West Ham is now “confident” that they can convince Mubama to stay, according to a club insider.

The academy graduate has played 90 minutes in the last two games

with varying results due to injuries to Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham’s contract rebel

Recently, Muhammad informed Moyes of the advantages he has over Antonio and Danny Ings for the West Ham team.

And he celebrated by pointing to his wrist and said, “It’s time,”

after contributing significantly to the equalizer against Burnley the previous weekend.

He has a lot of confidence, for sure.

And maybe we now understand where he is obtaining it.

It’s possible that Hammers supporters haven’t witnessed such confidence

in a homegrown striker since a certain Jermain Defoe made his debut.

Mubama speaks to Defoe – let’s hope it’s just about goals

Mubama, the West Ham contract rebel, has been discussing his

career with the ninth-best goalscorer in Premier League history.

Mubama calls him and former Hammer Defoe, who stands as the Prem’s ninth-highest scorer ever with 162 goals, on a daily basis, according to Carlton Cole.

Given how Defoe handled his departure from the team,

West Ham supporters will be hoping that the calls are only about goals rather than career guidance.

To be honest, though, he regrets that and has already expressed remorse and sincere apologies for it.

‘I just want to see him do really well’

Cole told TNT Sports, “He’s one of those thinkers who just wants to do his

best and prove everybody wrong—or right, depending on who believes in him.”

“He’s a fantastic young man to collaborate with, and I’m delighted he will now be receiving opportunities.”

He calls up not only Jermain Defoe but also me, and he has a wonderful attitude.

To be honest, I have no idea why he is phoning me while he is calling Jermain Defoe!

But I do respond; he’s a terrific young man, and all I want is for him to succeed professionally and,

ideally, for this to be the beginning of great things to come.
