Hugo Cuypers, a striker for Gent, isn’t going to Rangers, per a Belgian report that claims the Ibrox team “loves the profile” of the forward.
The 26-year-old forward moved to Gent from Mechelen, a rival in the Jupiler Pro League, eighteen months ago. According to Belgian
media, Rangers are fans of the striker, who Philippe Clement is familiar with from his own time back home. However, according to the
same story, he will not be joining with the Light Blues.
Midfield mismatch However, according to Rangers Review, Jose Cifuentes’ transfer to Brazilian Serie A team Cruzeiro could be
finalized soon. The former LAFC player wasn’t excited about moving to the Super Liga, but it looked like he was on his way to Turkey
when Rangers and Rizespor struck a deal over the weekend. In a surprising development, it was revealed that Cruzeiro, a South
American team, wanted him, and the 24-year-old is leaving.
Rangers Review also say that Brazilian full back Jefte has gone AWOL from Apoel Nicosia amid interest from the Ibrox side. The 20-
year-old is on loan at the Cypriots from Fluminese and they say an APOEL club
spokesman ‘said he’s been AWOL since Thursday’.
