Celtic could be on the market for a striker this season as Brendan Rodgers wants to provide help for Kyogo Furuhashi in attack.

Due to Hyeongyu Oh’s and Daizen Maeda’s involvement in the AFC Asian Cup,

Furuhashi is the only senior option on the Parkhead roster who is naturally a centre forward.

Irish manager Brendan Rodgers has hinted that movement into the club may occur before the deadline;

however, he has not specified which positions he may aim to fill in the coming days.

The 51-year-old said following his side’s tight victory over Ross County:

“Hopefully there will be movement, that is the goal. Bringing in a player who can help us improve and develop.

We will see over the coming days, but hopefully that’s the case.”

In terms of prospective targets, Bologna attacker Sydney van Hooijdonk appears to be the most popular right now due to his unclear future at the Serie A club.

Mathias Kvistgaarden, Lawrence Shankland, and Bojan Miovski, among others,

have been mentioned as possible candidates for the Bhoys’ new number nine position in recent weeks.

In any case, supporters are eager to see if the Scottish Premiership holders will strengthen their ranks.

John Hartson predicts Celtic will chase Aberdeen attacker Bojan Miovski.

John Hartson knows a thing or two about hitting the back of the net in Celtic colors,

and has recommended his old club to seek a deal for Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski,

who has 17 goals and four assists in 32 games this season.

Hartson told the Sunday Post (28/01, print edition), relayed by Football Scotland,

that he has met Bojan Miovski a few times and likes the way he looks.

I believe he would perform well at Celtic.

He has a history of scoring goals for Aberdeen and understands what it takes to succeed at

this level and for his native Macedonia.

“Bojan possesses a good first touch, retains the ball well, and encourages others to play.

He also charges at goal when the timing is right, causing defenders all sorts of problems.

“Various transfer fees have been mentioned, ranging from £3 million to £6 million.

The simple line is that Aberdeen will have their value,

and any interested club will know how much they believe he is worth.

Personally, I would place him between £3.5 million and £4 million. “That would be good business.”

Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski would tick several boxes for Celtic.

Miovski has been impressive for Aberdeen this season and would be an excellent signing for Celtic.

Nonetheless, Barry Robson has recently expressed his determination to maintain the North Macedonia international at Pittodrie

According to Sofascore, the 24-year-old has taken roughly 2.8 shots per match in the Scottish Premiership this season and has scored around 0.5 goals each league fixture.

The former MTK Budapest forward differs from Furuhashi in that he can hold the ball up as well as receive crosses.

With the window closing, it is unlikely that the Hoops will be able to get Miovski to Parkhead; nevertheless, we will have to wait and see if there is any progress on that front before the end of play.
