Rangers manager Philippe Clement has told fans that the team expects to be active until

the “last second” of the transfer window.

Rangers have already signed Wolves forward Fabio Silva on loan for the remainder of the season,

a £35 million player with high expectations in the game.

Add to that the signing of Ivorian midfielder Mohamed Diomande on a £4.3 million loan-to-buy deal,

and the Ibrox ranks begin to fill out with some fascinating newcomers.

With talk of Brazilian left-back Jefte and the striker vacancy needing to be addressed,

how the roster looks on February 1st will be quite interesting.

Philippe Clement delivers a “busy” transfer update.

Philippe Clement was asked about the club’s transfer plans following

the 1-0 Scottish Premiership victory over St Mirren.

With several players connected to leaving Ibrox, including Ridvan Yilmaz and Jose Cifuentes,

there could be some upheaval in what promises to be a turbulent few days.

In an update that has raised the hairs on supporters’ necks,

the Belgian manager indicated that the club will be active until the closing seconds of January.

“Yes (I expect to be busy),” Clement replied. “Because that is my job, and that is the job of all managers.

“So we will be busy until the last second probably, like everybody.”

When asked about the role of Nils Koppen in securing any deals in and out of the club, Clement responded:

“It is not just the two of us, eh? There are several individuals in the building.

It’s not like the two of us make all the decisions. It’s with Craeg (Robertson), James (Bisgrove), the chairman,

the investors, and everyone. We make judgments and work together.

So that is a good thing. It’s also one of the motivations for me to come to Rangers,

since it’s so transparent it’s really open, everybody is working hard.

Everybody has an opinion and we say things between closed doors and we go out with one opinion at the end.”

Rangers ready for picture finish of January window.

Rangers appear to be in for a very tight conclusion to the January transfer window,

as many players are poised to go while other roles in the squad appear to be filled.

The Rangers manager has always been tight-lipped about prospective new arrivals and departures,

and that hasn’t changed here.

But one thing Clement has always made plain is that the club will conduct business in January as

Rangers seek to make a real and legitimate title push.

Sam Lammers has gone on loan, but with major injuries to Abdallah Sima, Danilo, and Kemar Roofe,

the club is clearly lacking in the final third.

With suspicions circling around Ridvan Yilmaz’s departure,

we’re also expecting those links to Jefte to step up in the coming days.

But, as we’ve seen in this window, Rangers aren’t letting anything leak out of Ibrox,

with scarcely a murmur from any player until deals are finalized.

Combine that with Clement’s claim that the window is ready to go to wire,

and we expect you to be glued to your phone displays until February 1st.

Do not say you weren’t warned.
