Personal problems emerge as Philippe Clement tells Rangers player he can leave now

Philippe Clement has personally sanctioned the impending exit of Jose Cifuentes, having struggled to adapt to life at Ibrox, according to https://dailysportnews.co.uk

The website said on X [27 January] that a change in manager, injury problems,

the cold winters in Scotland, and personal reasons had all prevented Cifuentes from fulfilling his dream of playing in Europe.

Clement is thought to have decided to allow the midfielder leave the club this month in a loan-to-buy deal,

with Turkish side Rizespor accepting a proposal.

“The Ecuadorian player José Cifuentes dreamed of making the leap to Europe,

but that dream come true has turned into a nightmare,” they stated in their letter.

“Unfortunately, injuries, the cold Glasgow winter, personal problems and the change of coach at Rangers came together to make this change something difficult to overcome.”

The 24-year-old was one of Michael Beale’s several summer additions prior to the current season,

joining from LAFC on a four-year contract worth £1.2 million. [Sky Sports].

There are serious reservations about Cifuentes’ ability on the pitch,

as he has failed to hit the ground running under Beale in all competitions, with no solid memories to draw on.

Injuries have plagued the midfielder, leaving him with limited time on the field to demonstrate his abilities.

Without football, it is understandable how tough it has been for him to adapt to life all across the world.

Rangers are becoming more packed in midfield,

with Nico Raskin and Tom Lawrence back and Todd Cantwell picking up the slack in recent weeks,

so Clement can afford to lose Cifuentes.

Clement, who has not played a single minute in the Scottish Premiership since December versus Dundee,

has been forced to be creative with his midfield choices, instead deploying full-back Dujon Sterling.

Rangers appear to be breaking up; this relationship hasn’t worked at all.
