Rangers accept  bid as midfielder set for exit to Turkish side

Rangers midfielder Jose Cifuentes is set to leave club after the Ibrox side accepted a bid from Turkish team Rizespor.

The Ecuadorian international joined the Ibrox club in the summer for £1.2 million from Los Angeles FC,

but has struggled to make an impact in Scotland.

And it is understood that Philippe Clement’s team has agreed to a loan agreement, with Rizespor having the option to buy him for about £2 million in the summer.

The 24-year-old is set to travel to Turkey soon to finalize the agreement.

Cifuentes joined the club last summer under then-manager Michael Beale and has 20 appearances for the League Cup holders.

Other teams in Europe and South America have expressed interest in the player.

Meanwhile, Clement anticipates Rangers remaining “busy” until the end of the transfer window.

The Ibrox club has already signed two players this month, with Fabio Silva joining on loan from Wolves until the end of the season and Mohamed Diomande signing from Nordsjaelleand, Denmark.

Brazilian Full Back Jefte is also expected to join from Fluminense, and Clement maintains he is working closely with rector of football recruitment Nils Koppen, chief executive James Bisgrove, and chairman John Bennett to conclude deals.

He told Sky Sports: “Yes, because that is my job and every manager’s job, so we will most likely be busy until the last second

“This isn’t just about myself and Nils [Koppen]. There are several individuals in the building. We make judgments and work together.

“That’s one of the reasons I joined Rangers: it’s very clear and open. Everyone has an opinion, and we talk about it behind closed doors before coming out with one Rangers.
