Cowboys Dak Prescott Drama Will ‘Breed More Tension’ in Dallas Says ESPN

Much has been made of recent social media posts by Dallas Cowboys players’ family members.

CeeDee Lamb’s mother, Dak Prescott’s brother Tad, and Micah Parsons’ brother Terrence Jr. have all spoken out on social media on a variety of topics, including Dak and his performance and salary in the aftermath of the playoff loss to the Green Bay Packers.

And, despite all of the hubbub, there hasn’t been a flood of locker-room social media support for Prescott. Is this significant? Are the players required to tweet their deepest thoughts? No, because those conversations are likely to have already occurred behind closed doors.

But ESPN’s Chris Canty believes that with the nature of Dallas’ offseason following the devastating loss, combined with this family issue, the tension at The Star will only rise.

“There are a lot more questions in Dallas about leadership,” Canty told ESPN’s GetUp.

“I don’t know how that gets better with Mike McCarthy entering the season as a lame-duck coach,

especially given the offseason that the Dallas Cowboys must have when paying Micah Parsons,

CeeDee Lamb, and Dak Prescott at the top of their positions.

“When I look at this circumstance, I believe the clamor will only get louder. The families, the private discussions,

that stuff is bursting to the surface on social media, and I don’t know how those players will respond,

so I believe that’s only going to produce more conflict in the future.

Should Cowboys supporters be concerned? Possibly.

We’ve heard all season – and for numerous seasons with Dak as a leader – about how close the locker room is and

how much of a “brotherhood” it is; might this be fracturing it?

The answer will not be known for some time, but with postseason failure driving this family drama and Dak at the center of the reaction,

despite the fact that coordinator Dan Quinn’s unit allowed 48 points, Dallas could have a rocky offseason.

With so much to do this offseason, and Prescott’s contract predicament looming as the largest domino that may or

could not fall, the Cowboys will need to try to keep things under control.

Not that they need our advise, but… Regardless of social media, there are leaders in Dallas’ locker room.

They will all need to work together to ensure that “Bro, Bro, Mama, Drama” does not put more strain on any already strained seams.
