Rangers make £7.6m demand as multi-million bid made for first-team star today

Rangers make £7m+ decision today as Galatasaray make Ridvan Yilmaz bid

Rangers have rejected Galatasaray’s formal bid for Ridvan Yilmaz and are requiring £7.6 million to complete the deal,

according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

Writing on his personal Twitter account (27 January),

the reputable Turkish journalist stated earlier on Saturday that the Istanbul club had made an offer of £2.5 million plus bonuses to loan the left-back before the deadline this month.

However, when the 22-year-old began in the 1-0 win over St Mirren,

the Ibrox club rejected the bid,

requesting £3.8 million to loan him now,

plus an additional £3.8 million obligation clause to make the deal permanent.

EXCLUSIVE: Rangers have rejected Galatasaray’s loan bid,

which included a buy option of 3 million euros (£2.5 million).

“The Scottish team asked for a rental cost of 4.5 million euros (£3.8 million) with a mandatory buy clause,

or a direct transfer fee of 4.5 million euros.

“If Galatasaray accepts the request;

The transfer will be completed.”

This deal is now gaining traction,

and it’s no wonder that Rangers are driving a hard bargain before settling on anything.

Yilmaz was an injury-prone,

second-choice squad player at the start of the season,

but his fitness has held up well,

and he is now the first-choice left-back ahead of Borna Barisic, and he is doing brilliantly.

Philippe Clement would be stupid to allow him leave at this stage given how things have turned out,

and if Galatasaray wants to take him back to Turkey,

they must make an offer that makes it reasonable for Rangers to let him go.

If they are unwilling to do so,

it is evident that the club should be more than willing to keep him if he continues to perform at this level,

as he will play on a regular basis and keep us competitive.

If they return with the huge offer,

it will be a profit for a player who hasn’t ripped up any trees and has struggled with fitness while showing promise,

as well as excellent business. Win-win.
