Barros posted on X, citing a post by Romano that stated: “Rangers have reached an

agreement with Fluminense to sign Brazilian left back Jefte,

who was born in 2003.” “Out of nowhere… Jefte sold to Rangers,” Barros added.

“Arrangement in place; awaiting approval from APOEL since he is on loan in Cyprus.

Additionally, Jefte and the Rangers came to an agreement that would last until June 2027.

shocking signature

Very little was said about Jefte’s move to Ibrox; instead, most of the talk was about the

possible departure of incumbent left-back Ridvan Yilmaz.

The latter has been heavily linked to a move outside of Scotland throughout the January transfer window,

though maybe the rumors have subsided a little following his brilliant goal in

Wednesday’s (January 24) victory over Hibernian.

While on loan at APOEL this season, Jefte, a 20-year-old Brazilian, has been rather active,

making 20 appearances across all competitions thus far.

Additionally, he has been contributing to both offense and defense,

as the defender has three goals and four assists.Rangers supporters will undoubtedly be excited by this arrival,

as the team is obviously planning to push hard in all competitions for the balance of the season.

The impending signing does, however, put Yilmaz’s position at Ibrox in real jeopardy,

with the Turkish international now surely very likely to leave.
