Another devastating setback. Either that or it’s just an utterly depressing blowout show. The Golden State Warriors have adopted it as

their recurring theme this season after suffering yet another devastating loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night. Following

yet another defeat, Stephen Curry and the Warriors find themselves farther down the Western Conference rankings. This begs the

issue of what steps they will take to improve their season before the 2024 NBA trade deadline.

While some Eastern Conference contenders pulled off trades to improve over the past month, the Warriors have stood pat so far. And

it’s understandable since the organization just went through the gutting loss of a beloved assistant coach in Dejan Milojević. But

Milojević would love nothing more than to see this Warriors team flourish and hopefully

get to salvage the season and potentially compete for a title.

Right now, the Warriors are nowhere near sniffing an NBA championship. They have to worry about getting into the play-in

tournament at least. Nonetheless, there are still 40 games remaining on Golden State’s schedule. And perhaps a season-swinging deal

could help revive the Warriors through the second half of the season.

With that said, let’s lay out the Golden State Warriors’ dream scenario ahead of the 2024 NBA trade deadline.

Since this is a hypothetical situation, we should be free to dream big. In a perfect world, though, the Warriors would be able to acquire

Lauri Markkanen from the Utah Jazz without having to give up Jonathan Kuminga, who is having a fantastic season in his third year.

Over the past five games, Kuminga has been playing at an insane level. He is averaging 25.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while

shooting 56.3 percent from outside the arc and 65.4 percent from the field.

If the conversation does not begin with Kuminga, Danny Ainge will never even speak with Mike Dunleavy Jr. about Markkanen.

Still, having Markkanen on the Warriors would be ideal. He wouldn’t only assist in salvaging the season. If Stephen Curry’s 35-year-

old wheels don’t fully fall off, he would at least help the Warriors compete for the next few years.

Markkanen, an athletic 7-foot player with outside shooting, creating ability, and scoring potential, would be a great addition to this

club. Envision a quintet consisting of Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Lauri Markkanen, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry.

However, as previously stated, the Jazz are not going to pull this off, so let’s move

on to a more plausible Warriors trade deadline fantasy.
