On Thursday, we covered a story in Gazzetta dello Sport that reported Genoa’s interest in Celtic’s Gustaf Lagerbielke, who is on the outside of Brendan Rodgers’ plans at Parkhead.

However, as previously stated, they are not the only team interested in the Swede, as Lecce is as well.

Unlike Genoa, they have not sold a star defender for €30 million, therefore their funds are a little tighter when it comes to convincing Celtic, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport on Friday.

They explain that the centre-back’remains in the sights’ of the Italian club, but Celtic’s asking price is ‘expensive’.

That is why their director Pantaleo Corvino is attempting to operate on the basis of a loan agreement,

which has yet to be shown effective with Brendan Rodgers and those above him.

After all, Atlético Madrid attempted to sign Matt O’Riley on loan with the option to buy, but Celtic declined.

Lagerbielke is less important than the Denmark international, therefore they may be more tolerant,

but it all depends on the package proposed by Lecce.
