During TNT’s “Inside the NBA” pregame show on Thursday, the league revealed that Steph Curry, the star of the Warriors, will not be

starting for the Western Conference in the NBA All-Star Game.

Through the third round of voting last week, Curry was ranked second among fans; but,

the player and media tabulation damaged him.

Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks and guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder were selected as the starting

backcourt players for the Western Conference in place of Curry.

In his nine prior NBA All-Star Game appearances, Curry was chosen a starter. He will now have to wait until February 1st, when the

All-Star reserves are revealed. In the 2019–20 NBA season, he was the lone player not selected for the midseason showcase due to a

left hand injury he suffered in the season’s first game, which kept him out of action for the majority of it.

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (team captain), Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant, and Denver Nuggets center Nikola

Jokic are the other starters in the Western Conference in addition to Gilgeous-Alexander and Doncic.

Curry placed second in the fan vote but third among players, behind Doncic and Gilgeous-Alexander,

while the media ranked the two-time NBA MVP fourth, behind SGA.

The 73rd NBA All-Star Game is scheduled to take place at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday, February 18 at 5 p.m. PT.

Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers, Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Giannis

Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (team captain), and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers are the starting

players for the Eastern Conference.
