The stunning announcement that Jim Harbaugh would rejoin the Chargers as head coach has put Kellen Moore, the offensive

coordinator, in jeopardy. He is permitted to speak with other clubs by Los Angeles, and it looks like the Philadelphia Eagles will be one

of them. Could Moore rejoin the NFC East and the Dallas Cowboys rivalry with his next job?

From 2015 to 2022, Moore played and coached for eight years in Dallas, serving as offensive coordinator for the final four of those

years. Following a dismal season finale, Moore and the team “mutually agreed” to separate ways, with Mike McCarthy assuming

greater leadership of Dallas’ offensive. Los Angeles signed Moore right away.

Moore had a difficult season along with the Chargers. Even before to quarterback Justin Herbert’s hand injury, they had a 5-8 record

and a poorly performing offense. Moore’s team wasn’t producing nearly the stats he was used to with the Cowboys, despite an

apparent improvement at quarterback from his Dallas offensive.

The bloom seems to have soon fallen off the rose because Los Angeles turned to Harbaugh rather than give Moore a chance at the

position and did not even name him interim coach following Brandon Staley’s firing in December. However, it seems that Moore’s old

rival from his Cowboys days still has some regard for his output.

During Moore’s four years as offensive coordinator, Philadelphia had a 3-5 record against the Cowboys. The Eagles’ curiosity makes

sense given what they have personally witnessed and Moore’s possible insights into their division foe.

Given the stylistic distinctions between QB Jalen Hurts and both Herbert and Prescott, this combination would be intriguing. Moore

has occasionally come under fire for not making enough use of his quarterbacks’ mobility in his scheme. Going to Hurts right now

would put Moore’s versatility to the test in a way we haven’t seen yet because Hurts’ running is essential to his effectiveness.

This is merely an interview; things might not work out. However, Philadelphia’s prompt action following the Harbaugh announcement

suggests that they are genuinely interested in this, and it may bring a fascinating new dimension

to the Cowboys-Eagles game the next season.
