Shaquille O’Neal Reveals 1 Wish for Doc Rivers Amid Milwaukee Bucks Links

In the NBA, word has spread widely that Adrian Griffin has been fired by the Milwaukee Bucks and that Doc Rivers may take his place.

In addition to the opinions of players like Gilbert Arenas and Jamal Crawford, Shaquille O’Neal offered an insightful perspective on

the matter of Rivers’ potential employment.

The All-Star center claimed that Rivers has been living too long off of the one championship he shared with the Boston Celtics

while speaking on TNT’s Game Break. In the 2008 Finals, the team led by Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, and Paul Pierce defeated

the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers under the guidance of the former Coach of the Year.

Rivers has now moved on to become a coach with the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers. During his two spells,

he managed a number of  superstars, but he was unable to duplicate his 2008 Celtics success.

Rivers is currently the most qualified applicant to succeed Griffin as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. In the upcoming days,

it is still unclear if the franchise will confirm his potential hire.

In the same video, O’Neal changes the subject from Rivers’ coaching background to what he hopes will happen to him if he is hired as the Bucks’

head coach.

If O’Neal’s wish for Rivers is fulfilled, it will enhance his reputation as an NBA coach. It will also erase the times he choked during the postseason

with the Clippers and 76ers, in the eyes of both supporters and detractors.

However, in order for that wish to come true, the Bucks will need to take a risk and appoint Rivers as their next head coach.

If that occurs, it will be interesting to watch what he can accomplish with Lillard and Antetokounmpo, two extremely great players.
