Rangers transfer latest as Philippe Clement to turn attentions elsewhere
Rangers transfer latest as Clement to turn attentions elsewhere Gijs Smal, a defender for FC Twente, is not a target for Rangers.
Numerous reports this month have suggested that the Light Blues had their road cleared to move for the 26-year-old Dutch full-back,
whose contract expires this summer. Gers were made aware of Smal’s possible availability when his current club made him an offer of
an extension that was either accept or reject. The Rangers Review, however, claims that Philippe Clement’s team has no plans to move
for the defender, giving the team flexibility to consider alternative choices.
Million Manhoef is another who has been linked with Ibrox but, again, Football Scotland understands Gers have not been in
contact with Vitesse Arnhem over the alleged £2.5million offer they had planned.
It means Borna Barisic – who will be offered a new contract – and Ridvan Yilmaz are the two left-backs who will be asked to continue
playing weekly if no replacement can be identified.
