Kieran Tierney just can’t seem to catch a break, as the former Celtic star has suffered yet another brutal injury blow at Real Sociedad.

The left-back on loan from Arsenal has never had much luck with injuries throughout his career,

spending many weeks and months on the treatment table.

The 26-year-old has already dealt with hip, groin, and shoulder injuries,

but it appears that he is unable to ignore the latest leg problem.

Tierney was back playing regularly for the La Liga club after recovering from a

hamstring injury that held him out of nine Sociedad games in October and November.

He played all of the La Liga club’s games in December before giving an interview

in the New Year expressing his desire to stay with Sociedad on loan until the end of the season.

Tierney stated he has been’very much enjoying’ his time on the continent,

but he will not be in the best of moods today after suffering an unlucky hamstring rupture,

the same one that held him out earlier this season.

Kieran Tierney’s Injury Hell

Tierney stated he has been’very much enjoying’ his time on the continent,

but he will not be in the best of moods today after suffering an unlucky hamstring rupture,

the same one that held him out earlier this season.

Kieran Tierney’s Injury Hell

Tierney is claimed to have limped off soon before halftime with the problem,

and he is now expected to miss another game due to injury.

Sociedad president Imanol Alguacil had this to  say:

“We’re going to wait for the relevant tests, but it’s clear with Kieran that it’s a rupture in the hamstring.

“It’s a shame since we’ve also left back Aihen Munoz out,

and it’s critical to double up in positions given the number of games we’ll be playing.

But I’ve never made excuses, and I won’t start now.

Ruptured hamstrings can take weeks, if not months, to heal,

and while some reports claim it is a setback for Tierney’s Euro 2024 Scotland squad chances,

it is far too early to draw a judgment.

Tierney’s career has been marred by injury, and it continues to be as he enters his prime years as a footballer.

History is repeating itself for the former Hoops player,

and it will not help him in the summer if he  is to leave Arsenal.

Tierney is likely to be good enough to play for most Premier League clubs,

but clubs may choose not to risk the injury-prone star.

And it’s a sad to see, given his ascent to popularity with Celtic almost eight years ago.
