Lakers Have Trade Interest In Cavaliers Superstar Donovan Mitchell

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, the Los Angeles Lakers are the latest team to purportedly show interest in Mitchell when the Cleveland Cavaliers have stated that they intend to finish the season with Donovan Mitchell, but the player’s name continues to surface in trade rumours as the deadline draws near.

The Lakers have talked internally about packaging three picks and players they already have on their roster to pursue a true star, like Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers or Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, team sources told ESPN, according to a recent article by McMenamin.

With a year and a half remaining on his contract, Mitchell is having a career season with the Cavaliers. The fact that teams want to trade for him is not surprising.

Spida’s averages for each game are 27.8 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. Recently, Mitchell has demonstrated his potential to establish and tie career highs in assists (13) twice, both times while Darius Garland has been out of the lineup.

But wishing to trade for a player and actually making the trade happen are two different things. As of right now, reports indicate that the Cavs plan to keep Mitchell on the roster through the conclusion of the season in order to make another run at the playoffs.

The Cavaliers are dominating teams by a wide margin and have won eight straight games despite all of the trade rumours involving the All-Star. Cleveland should be strengthening their roster at this moment rather than dismantling it.
