Six-figure loan fee offered with £2.5m option to sign Rangers player, he agrees exit – report
According to Ali Naci Kucuk, Galatasaray has made an offer to sign Rangers’ Ridvan Yilmaz on loan, with a £428,000 upfront cost and a £2.5
million buyout option.
Before starting their most recent round of talks with Rangers, Galatasaray had already reached an agreement with Yilmaz, according to a story
published by a Turkish journalist on January 22.
It is said that Rangers want at least £5.1million to allow Yilmaz to leave in January, but the Turkish giants want to reduce that price in negotiations
over the coming days.
A move seems inevitable
Galatasaray’s determination to get a deal for Yilmaz over the line before the transfer window closes suggests they will not stop pushing until they
can get the move completed in January.
However, if they cannot meet Rangers’ demands financially then it could simply be a non-starter. The Glasgow club have no reason to sell if their
valuation isn’t met and would be happy to keep Yilmaz at Ibrox for the remainder of the season.
Letting Yilmaz leave Ibrox in the coming days would mean Rangers would have to bring in a replacement as cover for Borna Barisic, or a long-term
option to replace the Croatian whose contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, with no sign of a new deal on the table.
As a result, Galatasaray will need to increase their offer to get this one done, but with negotiations continuing and the Turkish club insisting on the
deal, it looks almost inevitable that it will take place before the end of the transfer window.
