Rangers-bound Mohamed Diomande has been plying his trade under the watchful eye of legendary ex-Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.
The Ghanaian player, who has 59 caps, joined FC Nordsjaelland in the summer of 2020 and is currently the
manager’s assistant.
The Right to Dream academy in Michael Essien’s native nation is closely associated with the Superliga team,
and it so happens that Mohamed Diomande joined the team in the same year as the coach.
Essien is regarded as one of the best midfielders and African players of his generation. In 2005, Chelsea paid a
record £24.4 million to purchase him from Marseille, making him the most expensive African player in history.
Mohamed Diomande & Michael Essien
Fans’ interest in a move of Michael Essien will increase as Rangers are apparently nearing an agreement to sign
Mohamed Diomande.
In addition to playing for Chelsea for nine years, Essien also earned 59 Ghanaian caps and had a dazzling career
playing for Lyon, Real Madrid, and AC Milan.
Essien is an all-action midfielder with exceptional skill and a fondness for long-range rockets. As a young West
African attempting to break into the game, he’s not exactly the worst tutor in the world.
Although Michael Essien arrived to FC Nordsjaelland a few months ahead of Ivorian star Mohamed Diomande, the
Ghanaian’s experience must have been invaluable to the midfielder’s growth.
