Rangers agree fee for second Jan signing, medical scheduled – report

Rangers and FC Nordsjaelland have agreed on a fee for midfielder Mohamed Diomande,

according to Danish outlet B.T.

On Sunday (21 January), the publication announced in its online edition

that Diomande is returning from Nordsjaelland’s training camp in the United States.

Farzam Abolhosseini’s report adds that the Ivory Coast age-grade international

will have a medical with the Rangers “in the coming days”.

Is there room for one more?

Three weeks after completing the loan signing of Fabio Silva from Wolves,

Rangers appear to have completed their second January transaction.

Diomande is relatively unknown, but based on what has been written about him in the local media,

he appears to be a talented player.

Diomande is a center midfielder who can play in a holding or advanced role,

therefore he surely fits Philippe Clement’s needs.

The most interesting aspect is that the Ivorian can contribute to goals on a regular basis,

having scored five and assisted four in 32 games last season.

A new striker would still be welcomed at Ibrox before the transfer market ends, but two places have been added.

Sam Lammers may have been sent out to Utrecht, but the harsh reality is that Rangers will miss him greatly.

If that elusive goalscorer can be brought in during the next ten days,

it will be a tremendously impressive window.
