Joey Veerman’s transfer from the Rangers was undoubtedly the tipping point in

the team’s relationship with Steven Gerrard and the Rangers board.

The former Gers manager had tidy midfielders who could handle the ball,

but Scott Arfield was always looking better up top,

therefore the team needed a true number eight who could score goals.

Rangers nearly made a move at Heerenveen, but they were priced out,

and now there are rumors of Premier League interest,

so Joey Veerman may be headed for a big-money transfer.

The Rangers Joey Veerman’s error could happen again

Regarding the Netherlands international,

the only concern expressed was his mental toughness and attitude.

We witnessed that firsthand in 2022 during the Champions League play-offs when

he just gave up when things didn’t go his way.

His post-match interview sounded like the remarks of a jaded adolescent.

To be fair, though, he appears to have taken that lesson to heart as

he played a major part in our season-ending loss in Eindhoven.

affable when in control, £7 million signing Joey Veerman’s ability to pass

the ball and his remarkable ability to add points from a deeper position are his biggest strengths,

and they have helped him establish himself as a regular for his country.

Characteristics that, in an odd one-sided tale, he now seems to be connected to a transfer to the Premier League.

David Moyes wants to spend more of the money that West Ham United received with the sale of Declan Rice,

and he has a midfield player at the top of his wish list.

Oddly enough, though, the boss of the Hammers prefers Kalvin Philipps.

When it comes to their playing styles, they couldn’t be more different.

Joey Veerman would have been a huge asset to the Rangers,

but they would have been much better off without him because Tomas Soucek and

James Ward-Prowse are already in his squad.

However, it appears that they are set on signing a player who plays at a position

where they already have choices and has missed a significant portion of the last two seasons due to injury.

It was a major mistake for West Ham not to sign Veerman, which contributed significantly to their failure to win

the league title. It appears that they are going to make a similar error.
