Former Viking running back Adrian Peterson arrested for DWI

The day after the first night of the 2025 NFL draft, Adrian Peterson, a former running back for the Minnesota Vikings, was taken into custody by the Minnesota State Patrol early on Friday morning.

Sports Illustrated claims that the previous evening, Peterson was in Minnesota for the Vikings’ draft celebration. He gave a live broadcast from the celebration to a nearby radio station.

Although the arrest’s specifics are yet unknown, the Hennepin County Jail roster indicates that 40-year-old Peterson was taken into custody at around 5:15 a.m.

According to the prison roster, Peterson was freed at roughly 7:30 a.m. after posting $4,000 bond.

In the state of Minnesota, the former NFL all-star is accused of fourth-degree DWI, a misdemeanor. This charge is frequently imposed when it is a first-time offense and the alcohol content was below .16.
